A woman, who volunteers at an animal shelter, went above and beyond to ensure the comfort of an abandoned dog after surgery. In the footage, the woman named Chrissy Ireland is seen cuddling with Prissy, a four-year-old dog who had been abandoned. Prissy was awakening from anesthesia and was having a tough time, but Chrissy didn’t want her to be alone. She entered Prissy’s kennel, lay down next to her, and provided comfort. Little did Chrissy know, her coworker Debra Cameron was filming the emotional scene.
This incident took place at the Conway Area Humane Society in New Hampshire. Prissy and her three puppies were found abandoned in a junkyard in Tennessee, but luckily, a Good Samaritan rescued them and brought them to the shelter.
Chrissy shared that she couldn’t bear to see Prissy wake up alone and noticed how shaky and unwell she seemed. She decided to lie on the floor with her, showering her with kisses and love. The experience of waking up from anesthesia can be scary, especially when surrounded by unfamiliar walls and gates.
Chrissy was unaware that her touching act was being filmed, let alone that it would gain such widespread attention. Nonetheless, she hopes the viral moment will help Prissy find a forever home. She believes Prissy would be great in any home, particularly one with children, where she could enjoy playing in a yard.
