One such pet is an oversized cat which is so big that people mistake it for a dog. The cat is Maine Coon and his name is Kefir which lives with its owner Yulia Minina in Stary Oskol, Russia.
Yulia adopted the cat when he was a tiny kitten. At that time, she did not imagine the cat would grow up to such a large size.
It is to be mentioned here that Maine Coons are one of the biggest breeds of cats and they weigh up to 20 pounds. But Kefir is exceptionally large even for his breed.
Kefir is now 12.5 kg or 27 pounds. The owner was really surprised by its size and did not have imagined that the ordinary cat would have grown to such a size. Here this is to be mentioned that Kefir is still in his growing phase. He is 1 year and 9 months and Maine Coons keep growing up to the age of 3 years.
His size has greatly surprised the people as it is very rare to have cats of that size. So most people think that Kefir is actually a dog. Yulina herself says that it is quite funny to know about the reaction of other people when they see a cat so big.
Kefir may be giant by size but he is a real gentleman. He is very smart and behaves very calmly. When people come to the house, all the attention is on him but he allows himself to be stroked by the people, says Yulina.
Really Kefir is a beautiful cat and he is loved a lot by his owner.
