Church doors were opened for homeless dogs in Brazil

Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty. This kindness is driven by selfless love. In turn, we want other people to be part of this kindness. If we show this love and kindness towards the animals, we are blessed.

Whenever we think of adopting an animal, the first thought that comes to our mind is of a shelter house or any rescue organization. There are rare chances that we could think of going to a church to adopt an animal.

But the story here is of a Brazillian priest who has opened his heart as well as his church to many homeless dogs that wander on the streets of Gravata, Brazil. Not only this but also he helped many dogs to get forever homes.

The name of the priest is Father Joao Paulo Araujo Gomes. He has taken the initiative to look after as many as 228,000 homeless dogs living in that area. According to Father, the dogs would always be able to enter, sleep, eat, drink water and find shelter and protection as that house is of God and they belonged to God.

He started this mission to help the animals in 2013 when he first arrived there. He told that some volunteers came to him to sell cookies to help a project related to stray dogs. Since then he started to participate in the works of the NGO. So he was involved in the project and he started welcoming the dogs into his home.

He started adopting the dogs who were not treated well and with the help of volunteers, he was able to feed and find a home to many dogs.

His unique way of helping stray dogs has made him very popular. How better this world would be if more and more churches are opened to stray dogs and cats.
