We always wished to help every abandoned animal. We know it is not possible still we make sure to help those who are near to us. It is heartening to know how many animals need our help. If any animal is abandoned only due to old age, it makes us wonder what type of society we live in.
This particular story will move you to the tears. It started at New York’s Wanderer’s Rest Humane Association when they found a senior dog abandoned in the yard. He was tied with a rope on the sled. Someone left the dog there overnight with a bowl of water and a note. The note read “over 10 yrs, can no longer walk”. It was quite disturbing to know that.
Wanderer’s Humane Association gave him the love he deserved and named him Perry. They posted his photos on Facebook so that someone would recognize him and it described his touching story. People were moved by his story and came forward to help him.
He was taken to the vet for a check-up. After his medical examination, it was found that he was suffering from two tick-borne illnesses and had a skin problem. He was given pain relievers to treat the wounds. Fortunately, Perry showed signs of improvement and started walking with assistance.
On seeing this improvement, they posted on Facebook that now Perry could stand on his own. He was able to walk and they thanked the people who came forward to show support and donated for the boy.
The latest update regarding Perry is that he is in a home now. He deserved all the happiness of life. Congratulations to Wanderer’s Humane Association for their love and care of Perry.
