We lost Stephen Robert Irwin popularly known as ‘ The Crocodile Hunter’ on 4th September 2006. He was an Australian zookeeper, conservationist, and TV personality.
Though he is no longer between us, yet his legacy is carried forward both by his fans as well as by his family. His family has kept doing his important conservation work at the Australia Zoo. They are working to protect the native wildlife.
Every year in order to honor the legend, they are a holiday on Steve Irwin Day held on every November 15.
The day is dedicated to celebrating the extraordinary life of the one and only Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. The day includes the events at the Australia Zoo to honor Steve’s life and legacy.
The aim is also to raise money for Australia Zoo Wildlife Warriors’ conservation and preservation work.
Many people took an opportunity to pay tribute to the late star, including his two children. His son Robert Irwin who is now 17 years old shared a heartwarming photo of him and his sister Bindi playing with their father as children.
His son Robert wrote that he thought a lot about his dad that day and also thought about the impact he made on the planet and inspired the entire generation.
He further said that he was a truly amazing dad and he remembered the special times he spent with his father through the photos and stories from his family and people who knew him best.
Robert followed in his father’s footsteps. He works at the Australia Zoo and has worked in several wildlife series.Robert used to share photos with his animal friends and fans often compare him with his dad.
Like her brother, Bindi too shared her own throwback photo with her father and wrote that his legacy would live on forever.
Bindi is an established conservationist. She started her media career all the way back at the age of 9 when she starred on Bindi the Jungle Girl.
She also works with her family at the Australia Zoo and works for Australia’s wildlife. Really Steve was an icon that we lost too soon but his legacy is carried forward by his children as well as by his fans.
